HC Deb 03 December 1974 vol 882 c456W
Mr. Higgins

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether Great Britain has yet ratified the international convention banning the importation of endangered animal species; and, if not, what is the reason for the delay.

Mr. Denis Howell

We have made good progress in resolving the complex practical problems of implementing the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, and I hope that we shall shortly be in a position to ratify it.
