asked the Secretary of State for Industry when he intends to introduce legislation to bring into public ownership the shipbuilding, ship repairing and marine engineering industries.

asked the Secretary of State for Industry when he intends to introduce legislation on the nationalisation of shipbuilding.

Mr. Heffer

The Government intend to introduce legislation in the present Session, but I cannot yet give a precise date.

26. Mr. Dodsworth

asked the Secretary of State for Industry when he expects to announce his detailed proposals for the nationalisation of the ship repairing industry.

My right hon. Friend will inform the House of his detailed proposals as soon as he can, but this depends upon the completion of consultations with the interests concerned.
