HC Deb 30 April 1974 vol 872 cc420-1W
Mr. Michael McNair-Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many Service and civilian personnel are required to man the Services' recruiting offices; and what is the cost of these offices on an annual basis.

Mr. William Rodgers

In 1973–74 a total of 1,578 Service and 596 civilian personnel were employed either in or on work which is run from, the Services' careers information offices. The only readily identifiable costs associated with career information offices are staff costs and rent. In 1973–74 these amounted to about £5.9 million.
