HC Deb 30 April 1974 vol 872 cc453-4W
Mr. Newens

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what aid is currently being supplied to Oman; and through what agencies.

Mrs. Hart

There is a British technical assistance programme which in the last financial year cost about £160,000. It includes English language and technical education, public health and the development of natural resources including hydrology. A commitment was made last January to provide up to £100,000 for equipment for a new hopsital. Oman also receives some assistance from the United Nations Development Programme and World Bank and from certain Middle Eastern sources.
