§ Mr. Smallasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he can now announce his decision on the extension of the period for 75 per cent. improvement grants.
§ Mr. William RossRecent difficulties in the building industry arising especially from the three-day week are likely to have delayed the completion of grant-aided improvement work by the deadline 22nd June 1974 laid down in the Housing Act 1971 as amended by the Housing (Amendment) Act of 1973. Provisions will be introduced enabling private owners in Scotland whose applications for grants at the preferential rate were approved on or before 30th September 1973 to receive a grant at the higher rate even though the work is completed after 22nd June 1974.
