HC Deb 30 April 1974 vol 872 cc439-40W
Sir G. de Freitas

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects that work on realigning the A6 road in Desborough, Northants, will start; how long the work will take; and what will be the approximate cost.

Mr. Carmichael

I expect work to start within six months; to take about £½ million to £3½ million, and if the plans were fully realised would total approximately £25 million. Estimated provision is, however, made on a conservative basis for a total of £21 million. Further information on the RRCs is contained in the Department's annual reports on research and development.

nine months; and to cost, with land, rehousing and drainage works, a little over £250,000.
