HC Deb 29 April 1974 vol 872 c384W
Mr. Money

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in the light of recent thefts of works of art of public importance, he is satisfied with arrangements for the control of export of works of art by Her Majesty's Customs and Excise.

Dr. Gilbert

I am satisfied that the arrangements provide for as effective control as is possible without unduly hindering the movement of ordinary passengers and legitimate export trade.
