§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsThe Government have agreed, subject to the condition below and to seeking the necessary authority from Parliament, to make a special grant of £20,000, in addition to the grant of £90,000 which can be made available from the fund administered by the Victoria and Albert Museum for assistance with purchases by local collections. Both the special grant and the grant from the fund are offered on condition that the gallery can raise the balance of the purchase price of the painting.
