§ Mr. Redmondasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether it is her intention to introduce in 232W this Session any legislation dealing with prices for such matters as services and rents in addition to the legislation dealing with prices of food.
§ Mr. MaclennanI have already proposed amendments to the Price Code, most of which apply to the provision of services. Additionally, I have included in the Price Bill a proposal to add to the power of the Price Commission to prevent or restrict price increases, and that power would also extend to services. Rents are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment. and he has already acted to freeze them.
