HL Deb 10 April 1974 vol 350 c1366WA
LORD HYLTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What long-term steps they are taking to prevent acute shortage of homegrown pigs developing from the Autumn of 1974 onwards.

LORD WELLS-PESTELL

The special assistance to pig producers introduced by the Government on March 25 is designed to check the decline in the breeding herd and thus to maintain supplies of home produced pigmeat later this year and in 1975.
