HC Deb 10 April 1974 vol 872 cc206-7W
Mr. Jim Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many registered disabled women there are in England, and in the Eastwood area, respectively.

Mr. Booth

On 16th April 1973, the latest date for which information is available, there were 66,802 registered disabled women in England, including 16 in the area covered by the Eastwood employment office.

Mr. Jim Lester

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many registered disabled women are currently in employment in England and in the Eastwood area, respectively.

Mr. Booth

6,613 registered women were known to be unemployed in England in March. Most of the remainder of the total register of disabled women—66,802 when last counted in April 1973—were probably in employment, but it is impossible to give a precise figure. The corresponding figures for the area covered by the Eastwood employment office are three and 16 respectively.
