HC Deb 10 April 1974 vol 872 c229W
Mr. McCusker

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether, in the interests of security, he will ensure that no further repairs, maintenance or surfacing is done to unapproved cross-border roads.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

No. Routine maintenance of unapproved cross-border roads is a matter for the Northern Ireland Department of the Environment. As and when the security forces require such a road to be closed, the appropriate action is taken.
