HC Deb 09 April 1974 vol 872 cc139-40W
Mr. Newens

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what aid is currently being supplied to North Vietnam; and what agencies are involved.

Mrs. Hart

We do not at present provide bilateral aid to North Vietnam, although assistance was given to war-relief work in that country by means of a contribution in 1973 to the Indo-China Operations Group of the International Red Cross.

Mr. Newens

asked the Minister of Overseas Development what aid is currently being supplied to South Vietnam and what agencies are involved.

Mrs. Hart

We have a bilateral technical assistance programme costing some £80,000 per year and are providing £1 million capital aid for the development of urban water and village electricity supplies.
