asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer by how much productivity rose in manufacturing industry in 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973.

Productivity in manufacturing industry, as measured by manufacturing output per person employed, rose by 1¾ per cent. in 1970, 2i per cent. in 1971, 54 per cent. in 1972 and 8 per cent. in 1973.
