HC Deb 08 April 1974 vol 872 cc13-4W
Mr. Wyn Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will examine regional variations in bread prices, such as the extra 1p per loaf traditionally charged west of the River Conway to cover a bridge toll no longer payable; and seek to eliminate such anomalies.

Mr. Maclennan

I am aware of the regional variations in bread prices and that prices tend to be higher in remote rural areas. This is a factor we shall need to examine in implementing the price regulation provisions of the Prices Bill.
