Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list the number of school replacement projects in Derbyshire that have been set aside by the previous administration as a result of cuts in expenditure; and if he will consider reinstating them.

The following projects, which were included in the original 1973–74 building starts list, are not able to start before July 1975 under the terms of Circular 15/73:

  • Whaley Bridge Church of England Primary School.
  • Clowne Infants School.
  • Stanley, St. Andrews CE Primary School.
  • Chesterfield, Abercrombie Primary School.
  • Walton, Primary School.
  • Whitwell Junior School.
  • Royle Primary School.
  • Pygroves Primary School.
  • Beckett Primary School.

As I stated in the House this week, school improvement-replacement projects cannot be reinstated in the 1974–75 programme.
