§ Mr. Joel BarnettPayments made by the Government to the budget of the European Communities from 1st January 1973 to the end of March 1974 total £226 million. Receipts from the budget in the same period have been about £107 million. The Government have also made payments of £23 million to the capital and reserves of the European Investment Bank and £7.9 million to the reserves of the European Coal and Steel Community.
