HC Deb 05 April 1974 vol 871 c453W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many vacancies there were in the construction industry in Wales in the latest month for which statistics are available; and at that time how many construction workers in Wales were registered as unemployed.

Mr. John Fraser

In March 1974 there were 884 unfilled vacancies in construction in Wales and 10,694 unemployed people who last worked in the industry. The vacancy figure relates only to vacancies notified to employment offices and careers offices and does not measure the total unsatisfied demand for labour.
