HC Deb 03 April 1974 vol 871 c383W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how producer-retailers in the area of the Scottish Milk Marketing Board were affected by the recent Agricultural Price Review; and how they compared with producer-retailers in other areas.

Mr. William Ross

The calculation of the share of the milk guarantee due to producer-retailers as producers is a matter for the Milk Marketing Boards. I understand that all the boards in the United Kingdom have arranged to make a lump sum payment of 1.5p per gallon in respect of 1973–74 milk to producer-retailers on the same basis as to other producers. The application of the 1974–75 guarantee to producer-retailers is likely to vary according to the circumstances in each board area and I understand that no decision has yet been taken on this by the Scottish Milk Marketing Board.
