asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, after three instances of train hijackings at Meigh in County Armagh, what steps he is taking to prevent a recurrence.

Ninety-six people were killed in County Armagh in the period from 1st August 1969 to 28th March 1974. The detailed information requested is as follows:—

physical barriers on 16th and 17th March to prevent the railway line being blocked by vehicles. The crossing gates have been removed and signals disconnected to reduce the possibilities of trains being halted by false signals.
