HC Deb 02 April 1974 vol 871 cc310-1W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when the new school at Bridestowe, Devon, will be built, in view of the need for rebuilding after the accident to this school.

Mr. Armstrong

I am aware of the special circumstances in this case, but the allocation of resources available for school building during 1974–75 is under consideration. I regret that it is not possible to comment further at present.

Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how soon Holsworthy School will become a comprehensive school; and whether all necessary facilities will be available.

Mr. Armstrong

The change has been approved but not yet implemented. The new Devon education authority will have to consider when to provide extra facilities.
