HC Deb 02 April 1974 vol 871 c337W
Mr. Corrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland from what date the new calf subsidy will apply in Scotland; and if he will arrange for a back-dated payment to be made to calves punched last autumn.

Mr. William Ross

Subject to parliamentary approval it is intended that the increased rate of payment should apply to calves born on or after 30th October 1973.

Mr. Corrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what will be the total annual increase in payments arising from the new £10 calf subsidy in Scotland.

Mr. William Ross

The increase in a full year would amount to about £7 million on the basis of certifications at the current level in Scotland.
