HC Deb 01 April 1974 vol 871 c270W
Mr. Warren

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will introduce legislation to lay down a fixed time, applicable to all constituencies, up until which postal vote applications can be made to returning officers and for the prominent publication in every constituency of the location of a right of access to the postal vote ballot box for that constituency.

Dr. Summerskill

The Representation of the People Regulations already require postal voting applications to be received by the twelfth day, excluding Sundays and holidays, before polling day. My right hon. Friend will consider the second proposal.
