HC Deb 25 October 1973 vol 861 c560W
22. Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the provisional national income figures issued by the Central Statistical Office on the first quarter of this year.

Mr. Nott

The three separate measures of domestic product again showed divergent quarterly movements in the first quarter of the year. The Central Statistical Office believes that the output estimate which increased by 2½ per cent. in the first quarter continues to provide the best guide to short-term movements in domestic output.
