Mr. Jay

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much has been spent by the Intervention Board since 1st January 1973 on intervention buying, payments to private storers for withholding stocks of food from the market, and denaturing incentives, respectively.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

By 19th October 1973, £14,598,000 had been spent on intervention buying, £1,943,000 on aids to private storage and £14,678,000 on the denaturing subsidies.
