34. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what increase has been made in the personnel and resources of the National Illegal Immigration Intelligence Unit and other units dealing with illegal immigration.

Mr. Carlisle

The police Central Illegal Immigration Unit and the Immigration Service Intelligence Unit are at full strength, and in the police service generally manpower and resources are deployed on this work in accordance with operational needs.
