§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkThe figure of £35.61 is the average total weekly household income in the Northern Region as reported in the Family Expenditure Survey in 1972. The information was obtained by interview from the members of households who co-operated in the survey and who were living at a sample of addresses selected so as to be fully representative of the region. To obtain a reliable average figure for the year the interviewing of households was spread evenly throughout the year.
§ Mr. Leadbitterasked the Secretary of State for Employment what proposals he has to produce a detailed analysis of income levels in households in the Northern Region.
