Mr. Marten

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (I) if, for the 39 firms with parent companies in the Common Market which have, since 1st January 1973, taken decisions to set up or expand operations in the United Kingdom, he will state when the decision was first mooted and finally agreed; when the jobs will become available; and what grants have been or are expected to be taken up by each firm;

(2) if he will list the 39 firms with parent companies in the Common Market which have, since 1st January 1973, taken decisions to set up or expand operations in the United Kingdom, showing the names and locations of the parent companies, whether it was a new operation or an expansion of an existing operation and the location in the United Kingdom of the operation.
