§ Mr. George Grantasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the level of imported coal; at what price; and from which countries.
§ Mr. Tom BoardmanThe Department's "Overseas Trade Statistics of the United Kingdom" show that in the eight months ended August 1973 total imports were 0.99 million tonnes valued at £11.79 million—an average value of £11.9 a tonne. The principal sources were: USA 0.62 million tonnes, and Australia 0.19 million tonnes. Special coking coals not available from British mines account for most of these imports.
