§ Mr. Roderickasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if, in view of the limited resources available to local authorities to implement Section 2 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970, he will seek powers to assist them financially in this work.
§ Sir K. JosephI do not consider that further powers to give financial assistance to local authorities are appropriate; authorities are in any case assisted through the medium of rate support grant.
