§ Rev. Ian Paisleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what attempts he has made over the last 12 months to negotiate an extradition treaty with the Irish Republic for the extradition of those wanted in Northern Ireland for IRA terrorist activities.
§ Mr. Anthony RoyleNone. The arrangements between the United Kingdom and the Irish Republic for the return of wanted men are governed by reciprocal legislation in each country and not by treaty. I am not satisfied that existing arrangements could be improved by a treaty.
