* These salaries are given from 1969 since the nationalised boards were then divided into categories as recommended by the National Board for Prices and Incomes in its Report No. 107 (Cmnd. 3970).
† The holders of these appointments voluntarily decided to forgo the increases recommended for 6 months and the effective date was therefore 1st July 1971.
‡ The judicial grade of Circuit Judge was not introduced until 1st January 1972.
