§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many official statements have been made by Ministers in his Department this year about future job prospects in Scotland; and if he will publish a table showing the date of each statement and the prospective jobs mentioned.

Friends and I have answered a number of inquiries about job prospects in Scotland and in particular places and industries there and we have referred to employment in Scotland in our speeches. I am satisfied that the expenditure involved in tabulating these references would not be justified.
