§ Mr. ChannonGood progress has been made in the discussions with the Building Societies Association to arrange for the early introduction of the deferred mortgage payments scheme to help first-time home buyers. I have, of course, noted the suggestions made by my hon. Friend. These could, however, involve a substantial subsidy for some home buyers.
