§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe information sought in the first half of the Question is not recorded ; but it is estimated that in the summer season there may be about 8,000 hotels and boarding houses operating in Scotland which require a certificate under the Fire Precautions (Hotels and Boarding Houses) (Scotland) Order 1972. At the end of September about 6,500 applications for certificates had been made to fire authorities.
