§ Mr. Maurice MacmillanOn 23rd October my Department discussed with management and the foremen's association the question of overtime pay. During the past two weeks my officers have also heard informally about difficulties arising from the proposed changes in the company's staff pension scheme. My officers are keeping in touch with the parties and are ready to help at any time. I am not satisfied that an investigation and the publication of a report is the best way to improve the present industrial situation at the Filton plant.
