HC Deb 27 November 1973 vol 865 c121W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will conduct a survey into the results in Wales of raising the school leaving age to 16 years.

Mr. Peter Thomas

The results of the 1971 survey of preparations made by local education authorities in Wales for the raising of the school leaving age were encouraging. I am keeping the situation under review, but a further survey at this stage would be premature.
