HC Deb 27 November 1973 vol 865 cc87-8W
49. Mr. Cledwyn Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what assessment he has made of the need for a Government training centre in North-West Wales.

Mr. Chichester-Clark

The training needs of North-West Wales are kept under constant review. There are no plans for a Government training centre to be established there, but the area is benefiting from the general expansion of vocational training under the Training Opportunities Scheme. At present 130 persons are undergoing training in local colleges and employers' establishments and more places will be available in the new year.
