§ Mr. ChannonWe are watching the position on the sale of council houses very carefully. We have achieved an encouraging increase in sales, and my right hon. and learned Friend would be reluctant to seek further powers, but we are keenly concerned that there are still many local authorities which do not give their tenants the opportunity to buy their homes.
