§ 27. Mr. Ronald Bellasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what consideration he has given to improving the efficiency of fuel utilisation during the generation of electricity through schemes of district heating linked to power stations.
§ Mr. EmeryIt is the responsibility of the generating boards to plan and order power stations for the public supply system and it is their statutory duty to investigate methods of using the heat produced in those stations. There are severe practical difficulties in distributing heat from the large, remotely sited stations which it is the boards' policy to construct.
