§ Mr. Kenneth BakerI regret to say that the full information required by the hon. Member is not available. However, it is estimated that about 50,000 non-industrial staff left the Civil Service for all reasons including retirement between 1st November 1972 and 31st August 1973. Recruitment in the same period was roughly equal.
