asked Her Majesty's Government:

To specify the circumstances in which the Council or Commission of the E.E.C. can influence the exploitation of North Sea gas or oil.

LORD DRUMALBYN

We do not foresee any particular set of circumstances in which the exploitation of gas or oil on the United Kingdom sector of the Continental Shelf could be adversely affected by the Commission, or could be influenced by the Council without our consent.
