§ Mr. Dudley SmithThe industrial action involving ambulance personnel in the Brentwood, Billericay and Basildon areas of Essex is being taken unofficially in support of a national pay claim. As the negotiations on this claim are at present proceeding within the recognised machinery it would not be appropriate for my Department to intervene.
