HC Deb 14 November 1973 vol 864 c165W
71. Mr. Alexander Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what plans he has for the extension of consumer protection in Scotland.

Sir G. Howe

I am planning soon to meet the representatives of Scottish local authorities to discuss the possibility of establishing additional consumer advisory centres in Scotland. More generally, it is the aim of both my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and myself to ensure that the Scottish consumer has the same degree of protectionas the consumer elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
