HC Deb 12 November 1973 vol 864 cc20-1W
47. Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the current average period of delay in hearing planning appeals; and what action he takes when options expire within four or six months and the purchaser cannot take up his option without planning permission, with special reference to the Jewish Educational Development Trust's proposed primary school in Roding Lane South, Ilford.

Mr. Graham Page

For appeals decided by my right hon. and learned Friend in September 1973 the average period from receipt of appeal to date of inquiry was 46 weeks. Priority is given where an option to purchase land is involved and an inquiry will shortly be arranged into this particular appeal.
