HC Deb 12 November 1973 vol 864 c2W
25. Dr. Glyn

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what progress is being made with the proposal to introduce a system of runway alternation during easterly operations at Heathrow and thereby decrease the noise suffered by residents in the Windsor area.

Mr. Onslow

The Civil Aviation Authority informs me that the difficulties involved in runway alternation for easterly operations are serious and appear to involve substantial safety considerations. It is, however, still studying the problems, and I have asked for a report by early next year.
