§ Mr. David Clarkasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he is satisfied with the operation of the 1962 Rates (Statutory Deduction) Order in providing a suitable formula for the 1972 revaluation of properties;
(2) if he is satisfied that the 1972 revaluation of property sufficiently took account of the increased costs of repairs and maintenance;
(3) what plans he has to modify the statutory deductions with regard to allowances for the cost of repairs and maintenance in determining the rateable value of properties.
§ Mr. Graham PageAs my right hon. and learned Friend indicated in his reply on 24th October to the Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Essex, South-East (Sir Bernard Braine)—[Vol. 861, c.512–3]—he is now satisfied that the scale 244W of statutory deductions should be altered, as from 1st April 1974.
