HC Deb 07 November 1973 vol 863 c192W
Mrs. Doris Fisher

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what saving arises from deferring capital projects for the mentally ill and mentally handicapped for the year 1973–74.

Mr. Alison

We expect local authority projects for the mentally ill and mentally handicapped in England to the value of about £0.5 million to be deferred under the Government's proposals for stage 3. The effect on hospital building projects for the mentally ill and mentally handicapped will depend on decisions to be taken, some of them by my right hon. Friend, others by hospital boards, in the review of programmes now in progress.
