§ Mr. Meacherasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the total value of tax reliefs on life assurance contributions for each year since 1960; and, for each of these years, what was its average value to persons taking out such insurance with incomes, respectively, of less than £1,000, £1,000-£2,000, £2,000-£5,000, £5,000-£10,000, and over £10,000 per year.
