§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will take steps to ensure that additional payments are made for those officers giving additional service consequent upon the reorganisation of the National Health Service, comparable to those now being given to officers consequent upon the reorganisation of local government.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkThere is provision in the stage 3 pay code for extra payment for additional work in connection with the forthcoming statutory reorganisation of public services.
57WNegotiations on pay for officers in the National Health Service are, however, a matter for the Whitley Councils concerned. Settlements reached by these councils, like all pay settlements, are subject to the provisions of the pay code and it will be for the Pay Board to say whether an agreement satisfies the conditions laid down.
